Local Pholks Snapping Local PhotosThe Gassens are husband and wife photographers from Middleton, WI, featuring images of flowers, rural Wisconsin scenes, Madison landmarks, and more. Many of our works are displayed in hand-made wood frames, using reclaimed boards from fallen down barns, and have a classy yet rustic feel to them. Sometimes other reclaimed materials are used in the framing process as well. Hand-crafted photo greeting cards are also available for sale. Check back regularly to see where we are exhibiting our work.
Joan was raised on a farm just west of Middleton, and her passion for country life is captured in her photos as she tries to document the vanishing small family farms of Dane County. She also has a green thumb, with gardens full of all types of flowers, supplying endless subject matter for the camera lens. Rich has lived in Madison or Middleton all of his life, and along with his interest in barns and rural landscapes, he is also drawn to Madison area landmarks like the state capitol, lakes and UW campus.Together, the Gassens offer a unique view of the Dane County area and its many interesting features through the camera lens.
Recently, our greeting cards have been available for sale at Firefly Coffeehouse in Oregon, and at the Froth House in Madison. Email us today to see where you can find our locally produced cards this month.
